@bluefootedpig Ayn Rand has some interesting ideas, but if you know her lifes history you can really tell shes just an emotional basketcase because her family was essentially fucked by the soviets.

rands major contribution imo is the idea of rational self interest, pointing out were all selfish. It just so happens I believe its in my rational self interest to be my brothers keeper, because it ends up helping me anyway.

Either way, its fun material, youll probably enjoy reading it.

@endauthority So proudhon and wiki, okay i’ll go there. Socialist libertarians i like a lot more, as i value liberty more than capitalism, but it should be interesting. I also need to look up more by Ayn Rand, but I have studies Ron Paul and Friedmen so far, so it should be interesting. Of course, we have never had what friedmen or Rand wanted in the market place, just like full communism hasn’t been done, full capitalism hasn’t either, at least to my knowledge. But thanks, i’ll read those.

  7. endauthority Says:

@bluefootedpig you can get the jist of it straight from wikipedia.

as far as authors, theres quite a few to list but you can read chomsky, hes what you call a libertarian socialist. I tend to identify with that, but its not exactly scripture to me.

Marx has a lot to say, but you wont find much of it in Das Kapital

Proudhon has interesting work thats worth checking out.

capitalists disguise assumptions as facts, and i think youll figure that out with proudhon

  8. bluefootedpig Says:

@endauthority Well then, I would love to find out more on the subject, can you recommend videos or if you want to write a lot, please private message me. I love reading on new ideas. I was very for socialism back in high school and even more in college. It wasn’t until I was out of college in the workforce that I changed my mind. But that is also the time I started to look up facts too. But please, I would love to be enlightened more.

  9. endauthority Says:

@bluefootedpig you have a pretty fundamental misunderstanding of socialism. its an economic system where workers control the means of production and people operate on equal power relations.

You’re better off just forgetting your definition.

Socialism isnt a style of government either, it cant logically be that way when 9/10s of the forms of socialism call for the destruction of government period.

  10. bluefootedpig Says:

@endauthority Workers controlling the workspace is known as co-ops, and they are becoming more common. Socialism is government control, which normally does not give control to the employees. And someone is always making money, you just bury it deeper. Someone has to provide the raw materials, the building facilities, the computers, etc. And government pays on average almost 3x as much as private sector for any good or service outside their control. So there is still profit.

  11. endauthority Says:

@bluefootedpig Theres not one singular answer to that, but you can very well have an FDA type system. Since most forms of socialism do away with money, and for profit corporations, there wouldnt be any of the issues you presented.

Plus with the fact that the workers control the workplace, theres going to be more people overseeing the entire process.

    I’m 22 and I look like I’m often mistaken for ~16 and I never used anti-aging products… I wonder what I’d look like if I used anti-aging products…

  13. bluefootedpig Says:

@endauthority Okay, so in a socialism model, how are drugs approved? what is the process to prove medically if things work or not? What “protects” the people from harmful drugs? and if a harmful drug does kill many people, who is responsible and what recourse do people have to get compensated for said damages?

  21. endauthority Says:

    @bluefootedpig i advocate socialism.

  22. bluefootedpig Says:

@endauthority Of course studies don’t prove it, but who is going to put up 10 million dollars to prove that it is true? And what is used to prove it is true? CASE STUDIES! that is what big pharma uses now to get their drugs approved.

Okay, you don’t believe the current situation is correct, so tell me, what is the correct form? what are you advocating other than capitalism?

  23. endauthority Says:

@bluefootedpig studies arent proof. Anyone with the slightest interest in science knows that.

No, im not missing anything, i understand you completely, and you are wrong. You on the other hand have no idea what im even saying, i couldnt possibly be advocating larger costs when ive advocated time and time again that I dont believe in capitalism, and ive stated i believe in reform NOT THE STATUS QUO.

You are ONLY talking to yourself, and this is apparent.

  24. BigTuna77777 Says:

LMAO… I luv the laughing and the robot scene. Keep the shows up guys

  25. bluefootedpig Says:

@endauthority showing how we know that certain nutrients help reduce cancer, but why aren’t these not put up in every doctors office? because we have regulation and they haven’t been proven by FDA. Even though we have colleges like UC Berkley showing study after study, no one has put up the millions for FDA approval.

And it is obvious that you are missing the principle, you just showed in your own answers why free market would work with the correct court system.
